Welcome to My Life...

Having been inspired by my friend, Patrick Higgins, I've decided to write a blog detailing the craziness of parenting, teaching, and trying find a balance between work, family, and a social life. Now, a year ago, I never would have thought people would be even a little bit interested in the mundane of my daily life. However, in the last year, my life has changed dramatically, in the best possible way, and I've found that my daily life is no longer mundane. In fact, my life has become quite amusing as I've been raising a toddler on my own, working two amazing jobs, trying to start my own business, and exploring the world of dating. That's right, dating. Frightening, isn't it? This blog is simply the story of my life as I experience it, and I hope it at provides you with some entertainment at the very least.

Let's start with the basics:

Having moved from Las Vegas to Minneapolis last summer, I found that I experienced a bit of culture shock. The people in my neighborhood are so friendly! Don't get me wrong, I met some wonderful people in Vegas, but there is just something about the Midwest. People are different here. I've reconnected with some of my oldest, and closest friends, and I enjoy every minute I spend with them. I've been surrounded by family, as well, which is great for both Charley and me. People say there's no place like home, and in my case, that's the complete truth.

As far as work goes, I have been extremely blessed. I started working for Nevada Virtual Academy when I was in Las Vegas, and they allowed me to keep my job, when I moved home. I'm so lucky, because that took a lot of pressure off of me when I moved. After I got settled in Minneapolis, I started working at a gym, Kenwood Gymnastics, in St. Louis Park. It's amazing! I love my co-workers, and truly enjoy my job. I look forward to going into work, which can't be said for everybody, so I definitely consider myself lucky. Charley likes the gym too, but she's a bit of a wild child, and can't be left alone for a second. She is always into something. I can't imagine where she gets that trait... Anyway, it's been a great experience, and I hope to get back into coaching full-time very soon. I have a new business venture in the works, but I don't want to say too much...More details to come, as everything comes together!

As you read future posts, you can expect to read primarily about Charley, my dating life (which at the moment is virtually non-existent, but always entertaining), my amazing friends and family,  and training for a Tough Mudder that I've registered for, with my friends from the gym. Enjoy!
